Conservative Wordsmith Susan Baldwin writes: This reprint was originally published on August 7, 2007. According to Mitt Romney's recent interview with Iowa talk-show host Jan Mickelson, and the Des Moines, Iowa GOP Debate, Governor Romney said that he is definitely pro-life and against abortion, in case anyone still has doubts about his position. I watched the Des Moines, Iowa GOP Debate on ABC's 'This Week with George Stephanopoulos' this past Sunday, and, when asked what he thought was his biggest mistake in life, he clearly said that it was his previous support of the pro-choice movement.
During the Jan Mickelson interview, Romney stated that he vetoed several pieces of legislation dealing with pro-choice issues as Governor of Massachusetts. It is obvious that Mitt was a little miffed during the Jan Mickelson interview, as it didn't take long for the talk-show host to go into an early and unexpected verbal sneak attack mode. I think that one can really see things from Mitt's point of view by reading or watching this interview. His biggest impediment right now is the fact that he is a Mormon. Religious persecution, whether physical or verbal, is always unethical, immoral, poisonous, and often dangerous.
Here is an excerpt from the Transcript of Gov. Romney Interview With Jan Mickelson By Mike Laub | August 5, 2007 - 8:28 pm - (courtesy of http://blog.electromneyin2008.com/?cat=90), that I cited yesterday in my "Did Mitt Win In Iowa?" post. I highly recommend that you read the entire transcript and/or view the You Tube video on this website's related site,

Mitt Romney during the radio interview |
"Jan Mickelson: Yeah, but the point is the people who are likely to vote, don’t want to elect, a Ted Kennedy, who comes back, or a senator hearken, who comes hear to Dowling, and comes hear to Iowa, and says I’m pro-life and when he gets to Washington stands up and becomes pro-choice."
"Governor Mitt Romney: HERE is your opportunity to have that settled in your mind. I was governor four years. This is not just what I’m talking about. I was governor for four years. I had a number of pieces of legislation that came to my desk that dealt with abortion, abstinence education, RU-486, and so forth. I vetoed any bill that was in favor of choice. I was entirely consistent in favor of life. And so it’s not just my word that you have to take. Look at my record."
