Ken Burns' THE WAR on KCET In October

Conservative Wordsmith Susan Baldwin writes: Ken Burns' The War, a recent PBS documentary, will be rebroadcast on KCET in Los Angeles, California on Wednesday nights throughout October. This announcement was made at the end of the final 7th episode last night. If you missed this Ken Burns/Lynn Novick/Geoffrey C. Ward series, then you still have another chance to see The War on Wednesday nights. Please click on the KCET link below to view the exact schedule.*

I have written several posts about this series, and you may view my thoughts by clicking on the related post links provided below. In my first post, "Ken Burns' PBS War Series Not Slanted," I wrote that I did not think this series was slanted to the left. There were other bloggers and commentators who thought otherwise.

I saw blogs indexed on the internet indicating that Ken Burns purposely made this film with an agenda in mind that compared World War II to the Iraq War. To the best of my knowledge, no words were ever said during any of the actual film segments that indicated this to be the case. I stand by the words that I wrote when I said, at the very beginning of this series, that it was not slanted.

Even if it had not turned out this way, it is always a good idea to separate the artist from the man. Conservatives sometimes display bias when someone is perceived as being a liberal and then makes a genuinely great film. They simply don't know how to separate the artist from the man. In any case, Ken Burns' The War, written by Geoffrey C. Ward, is a work of genius, and I challenge anyone to debate this point.
