Conservative Wordsmith Susan Baldwin writes: Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has a new campaign ad that started running in New Hampshire on Tuesday, October 16, regarding the dramatic lowering of Americans' tax burdens. If Mitt Romney becomes the next U.S. President, he will make the death tax, as well as tax on interest, dividends, and capital gains, remnants of the past.
"'It's not fair that you have to pay taxes when you earn your money, when you save your money and then when you die,'" Romney says in the television ad." 1
"'That's why I'll kill the death tax once and for all and roll back tax rates across the board,'" Romney says in the 30-second ad. "'And savings? When I'm president, for middle-class Americans, the new tax rate on your interest, dividends, and capital gains will be absolutely zero.'" 1
"Romney has proposed eliminating taxes on interest and dividends for families earning less than $200,000 a year. He has said the plan would benefit 95 percent of families _ 56 million that earned interest in 2005, 28 million that earned dividends and 23 million with capital gains from real estate, stocks or bonds." 1
Would you rather argue about the religious beliefs of Mormons, or pay zero taxes? Mitt's proposal means that, provided you earn under $200,000 per year, you would no longer be paying any taxes when you receive interest, mutual fund dividends, or capital gains. You would not be liable for paying taxes when you sell shares in your mutual funds or stocks.
This could make a huge impact on your savings, not to mention a tremendous boon to the stock and bond markets. If there were to be no penalties in the buying and selling of shares, you could invest all of the money you will save, and buy more shares, or you might want to put that money in your money market fund, or interest-bearing checking account, and pay no taxes on the dividends or interest that you receive.
Mitt wants to help you save more money. Mitt wants to crack down on sexual predators. Mitt supports our troops. Mitt will instill fear in Jihadist terrorists. Think about it. If Christians decide to support Mitt, this will only make Americans look even stronger to those Muslim fanatics that are totally one-sided in their religious beliefs. They would not be able to comprehend American Christians that want a Mormon to be the next U.S. President.
To the fanatical religious Muslims that side with Jihadist terrorist beliefs, Christians supporting a Mormon would be equal to Muslims supporting a Jew, or an Evangelical Christian, as the next leader in Iraq, Iran, or Palestine. The choice is yours: to be accepting and tolerant of Mitt Romney's Mormon religion, or to reject Mitt the Mormon, just as an extremist Muslim would reject you simply because you are a Christian.
