Conservative Wordsmith Susan Baldwin writes: Today is the anniversary of Robert F. Kennedy's assassination. RFK has always been one of my heroes. Bobby Kennedy possessed the highest degree of integrity, combined with a deep understanding of righteousness, tolerance, and the necessity of correcting injustices. Bobby Kennedy was also brilliant, a man of deep faith, a committed husband and devoted father, plus Bobby had a smile and down-to-earth manner of speaking that readily warmed the hearts of everyone.
America loved Bobby Kennedy, and his tragic, unexpected death by assassination was a shock to all Americans. It didn't really matter, in that chilling moment of awareness, whether he was a Democrat or Republican, a liberal or a conservative. This is something to think about now, forty years later, and in an election year.
If you are a liberal Democrat suffering from the disappointment that Hillary Clinton will not be our next president, think about this. Do you really want Barack Obama to be the next President of the United States of America? I know that some liberals actually like John McCain, and some conservatives think that he is too liberal. I also know that some liberals recognize that there is danger lurking in the possibility of Barack Obama actually becoming our next president.
Ann Coulter, a well-known conservative author, wrote last year that she would rather vote for Hillary Clinton than John McCain, declaring that she would become a “Hillary girl.” *See my related post. What about Barack Obama, Ann? Are you now an "Obama girl" also? **Watch this video.
The bottom line is this: if you are a liberal or a conservative with a conscience, and you take your privilege to vote seriously, then you will vote for the best man, regardless of which political party he represents. Won't you?
