As a writer, I am very proud of my post entitled "Thomas Jefferson's Interview With God." I wrote it to make a point about religious intolerance. I feel greatly rewarded when people are challenged by what I have written, because in that challenge there is a small possibility that the seed of religious intolerance, which, unfortunately, has been planted in the minds of so many, including those calling themselves Christians, might die and be reborn into a new seed called religious tolerance.
Contrary to what some of the commentators on this post seem to think, "Thomas Jefferson's Interview With God" was not meant to be a treatise on history or theology. In fact, it is a fictitious play with a touch of humor, which, obviously, some of my commentators have failed to notice.
This is what I have to say to commentators with scathing, intolerant words for the Conservative Wordsmith:
Scathing words betray an underlying self-righteous attitude, and a misunderstanding of the loving words of Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, who taught us to have the qualities of compassion, mercy, and tolerance.
