McCain's New Ad Sheds Light On Obama's Friend Bill Ayers

Conservative Wordsmith Susan Baldwin writes: John McCain is an American hero, and also happens to be the 2008 Republican presidential candidate. Know the truth about Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama before you cast your vote.

Don't be sorry later, after the fact, because it will then be too late. Now is the time to learn as much as you can about Barack Obama, a man you really know hardly anything about. Do you honestly think two years is enough time to get to know anyone? I ask this question because that is the amount of time that most Americans have been acquainted with the name "Barack Obama," and know precious little about his values, character, or political career.

Think what you will about John McCain, but at least you can't honestly say that you don't know anything about him. When John McCain says the words "my friends" to Americans, which he did a number of times during the 2nd Presidential Debate, he doesn't just use them casually. A friend is someone you know something about, and most voters know a great deal about John McCain. He has earned the right to speak to Americans as his "friends." Barack Obama has not.

Watch the 2nd Presidential Debate With Open Minds

Conservative Wordsmith Susan Baldwin writes: The Second Presidential Debate between John McCain and Barack Obama starts in about 20 minutes. Please watch and/or listen to it carefully, with open minds and hearts, and truly hear what both presidential candidates are saying. Understand the basic difference in their philosophies, as they are intrinsically and dramatically different!

McCain Or Obama? 2nd Debate and Hamlet's Words to Horatio

Conservative Wordsmith Susan Baldwin writes: John McCain and Sarah Palin's second Presidential Debate is scheduled to air tonight. I was disappointed to hear a conservative inform me this afternoon that it is too late, over, finished. Is this true? Are Barack Obama and Joe Biden destined to win?

Please do not believe in gossip, lies, fiction disguised as truth, and other similar data stemming from the liberal left. Their sole purpose is to cause deep feelings of defeatism in the minds of conservative voters.

Another conservative told me today that perhaps there is really no point in even voting at all, especially if you are a conservative who happens to reside in California, and that maybe it would be better for the GOP if Barack Obama/Joe Biden were to win. Come on!

If you are a conservative, please don't let the current economic situation, or anything else, persuade you to buy into the pessimistic philosophy that liberals would have you believe. As Hamlet said to Horatio,

"There are more things in Heaven and Earth, Horatio,
Than are dreamt of in your philosophy."
- from the play Hamlet, Act I. Scene V by William Shakespeare
or
"There are more things in this political election, Horatio Obama,
Than are dreamt of in your philosophy."
- Conservative Wordsmith's version

Economic Crisis: Who Is to Blame? 'Tis Not John McCain!

Conservative Wordsmith Susan Baldwin writes: Re: the current economic crisis--Do not be dismayed by the liberal media's negative reports blaming John McCain and, well, all Republicans, for the current economic crisis. The facts indicate otherwise.

Don't just take my word for it. Check out the following article for yourself and dare to learn the truth. Jesus Christ said that the truth will set you free, maybe even free enough to vote for Republican presidential and vice presidential candidates John McCain and Sarah Palin.

Presidential Debate Reveals Truth About Obama's Ineptness

Conservative Wordsmith Susan Baldwin writes: Check out my previous post, "Obama Votes For McCain: Says McCain Is "Absolutely Right." (See My Featured Posts.) The first Presidential Debate televised last night revealed to anyone who has eyes to see and ears to hear (quoting Jesus Christ) the following: Barack Obama's ineptness was so great that he could not seem to stop saying that John McCain is 'absolutely right' regarding just about everything!

Thank you, oh most liberal of all liberals Barack Obama, for finally letting the American public know, without any doubts, where you stand on so many political issues--directly behind your new conservative mentor, and the next President of the United States of America, John McCain!

Obama Votes For McCain: Says McCain Is "Absolutely Right"

Conservative Wordsmith Susan Baldwin writes: During the first Presidential Debate between presidential candidates John McCain and Barack Obama last night, Barack Obama said that John McCain is "absolutely right" several times regarding more than one political issue. I noticed these remarkable words spoken by Barack Obama before I heard Rudy Giuliani tell NBC anchor Brian Williams, within a few minutes after the debate's end, this same exact observation.

My question to liberals is this: If you were watching and listening to the first Presidential Debate last night, how can you go to the polls and vote for Barack Obama, a man who obviously not only said, but also believes, that his political opponent John McCain is absolutely right about so many things? On the other hand, I never once heard John McCain say that Barack Obama is absolutely right, or even right without the word "absolutely" preceding it, even once. In fact, Republican presidential candidate John McCain made Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama look absolutely incompetent and inexperienced, which, by the way, is absolutely true.

Also, if you happen to be one of those liberals who questions the competency or political expertise of John McCain's Republican vice presidential running mate Sarah Palin, think again. The truth is that Sarah Palin, as a vice presidential candidate, is more qualified than presidential candidate Barack Obama ever was, or ever shall be. You don't need to take my word for it, as Barack Obama himself expressed this one mantra quite eloquently last night: John McCain IS ABSOLUTELY RIGHT, and all Americans have now been duly informed of this fact.

John McCain Is NOT The Liberal Here!!!

Conservative Wordsmith Susan Baldwin writes: Mitt Romney has given his official endorsement to Republican presidential candidate John McCain. Ann Coulter recently stated on FOX News Hannity & Colmes that "Hillary is absolutely more conservative" than John McCain! 1 I'm not kidding!

Do you agree with this outrageous statement? If not, then please do not allow Bill and Hillary Clinton the opportunity of making the White House their home once again. Mitt Romney has officially endorsed John McCain, and so has the Conservative Wordsmith.

Romney On McCain: Leader At A Dangerous Hour

Conservative Wordsmith Susan Baldwin writes: Mitt Romney has officially endorsed Republican presidential candidate John McCain, and wants his delegates to support McCain. 1

"'Even when the contest was close and our disagreements were debated, the caliber of the man was apparent,' the former Massachusetts governor said, standing alongside his one-time rival at his now-defunct campaign's headquarters." "'This is a man capable of leading our country at a dangerous hour.'" 1

"'Primaries are tough,' said McCain, referring to their earlier rancor."

"'We know it was a hard campaign and now we move forward, we move forward together for the good of our party and the nation.'" 1

"The two met privately before appearing together at a news conference." 1

"After Romney's announcement, McCain picked up endorsements from eight members of the Republican National Committee who will attend the convention and can support whomever they choose. That gave McCain 851 delegates, to 242 for Huckabee. It left Romney with 277 delegates." 1

"While Romney can ask his delegates to support McCain, he won't be able to simply hand over all of them. Many are from caucus states that won't select the actual delegates until state conventions this spring. Those delegates will be selected by people who supported Romney in the initial caucuses; the direction they go depends on whether they follow Romney's lead in endorsing McCain." 1

"In other states, the delegates are bound to Romney, and their fate is governed by state party rules. In states like Montana, where Romney has 25 delegates, they would be free to support whomever they choose after Romney releases them." 1

"Romney had support from six RNC delegates who continued to endorse him even after he dropped out of the race. Three of them switched to McCain, but some weren't ready." 1

"Romney suspended his candidacy last week after it became apparent that toppling McCain would be near impossible to gain the delegates needed to defeat McCain." 1

"He was the only one of McCain's main primary opponents who had resisted lining up behind the nominee in waiting; Rudy Giuliani and Fred Thompson both have endorsed him." 1

Some of my readers may have already guessed, based on my previous post *(see my related post below), that I am supporting John McCain also. Your assumption is correct. Hear ye, hear ye! The Conservative Wordsmith hereby gives Republican presidential candidate John McCain her official endorsement.

As for those of you who agree with Ann Coulter's so-called political strategy in being willing to vote, and even campaign, for Hillary Clinton, rather than John McCain **(see my related post below), I can only say that I hope your good intentions do not backfire and end up disappointing you.

Is John McCain A Target Of YOUR Intolerance?

Conservative Wordsmith Susan Baldwin writes: Attention conservative Republicans! You have before you a man named John McCain, an American war hero, specifically a "Vietnam prisoner of war." 1 John McCain also happens to have a "solid anti-abortion Senate voting record." 1 But evidently true American military heroism and fighting for the cause of the unborn are not enough reasons for some conservatives to support John McCain.

"Although the Arizona senator has effectively sealed the GOP nomination, Huckabee and his faith-focused followers waged a fierce fight to overtake McCain in what should have been a stronghold for the Vietnam prisoner of war, given the state's long military tradition and Virginia Sen. John Warner's backing." 1

"In the end, McCain captured Virginia — and its 60 delegates — but the primary was surprisingly hard-fought and underscored just how much work he still has to do to get a critical portion of the Republican Party base on board before the general election."
1

"'McCain will be our nominee and he is starting to consolidate the conservative base, but as long as Huckabee stays in the race ... there will always be holdouts who find it easier to vote for Huckabee than to unify behind McCain,' said Todd Harris, a Republican strategist and former Fred Thompson adviser. 'The best thing for our party would be to start the healing process now and unite behind McCain, but Huckabee's campaign is standing in the way of that.'"
1

"So, too, it seems, are religious conservatives."
1

"In the all-important delegate count, McCain has 789 delegates to Huckabee's 241, with 1,191 needed to nominate."
1

"McCain's deficit among these voters isn't shocking; he has a rocky history with Christian evangelicals. Despite his solid anti-abortion Senate voting record, critics view him warily for what they consider a long list of infractions that ran afoul of their objectives, including his refusal to back a federal constitutional amendment banning gay marriage. He says states have a right to make that decision."
1

"In his first run eight years ago, he derided their leaders, labeling some ‘agents of intolerance.'Since then, he has sought to repair relations, speaking, for instance, at the late Jerry Falwell's Liberty University in Virginia in 2006.'"
1

"McCain has continued to reach out to conservatives in an effort to unite the party since all but locking up the party nod last week."
1

"In a plea to conservative activists then, McCain said: 'It is my sincere hope that even if you believe I have occasionally erred in my reasoning as a fellow conservative, you will still allow that I have, in many ways important to all of us, maintained the record of a conservative.'"
1

"At least one high-profile evangelical leader, Gary Bauer, heard McCain — and endorsed him."
1

My readers are very familiar with my many Mitt Romney articles stressing the important role of religious tolerance, especially in reference to Article 6 of the U.S. Constitution.* Unfortunately, Mitt Romney is no longer a presidential candidate.
I now perceive yet another form of intolerance toward John McCain lurking in the political darkness.

Some conservatives are currently entertaining
a strange philosophy that it is better to support Hillary Clinton, a known and outspoken liberal Democrat, rather than vote for John McCain, a conservative Republican who is not perfect. **See my previous post regarding Ann Coulter’s interview on FOX News’ Hannity & Colmes.

Are there any voters out there that have attained complete perfection? I warrant there is not a single one. If you are not perfect, then please do not condemn John McCain, as he is a good man, and would make a fine president. If John McCain does turn out to be the Republican presidential nominee, and mathematics would indicate that this is a highly likely event, then please explain to me precisely and logically why you would prefer to vote for a liberal Democrat?

Is Ann Coulter A Liberal In Sheep's Clothing?

Conservative Wordsmith Susan Baldwin writes: Hillary Clinton has possibly gained a conservative endorsement from author Ann Coulter. In a recent interview on FOX News' Hannity & Colmes show, Ann Coulter stated that she will vote for Hillary Clinton if John McCain turns out to be the Republican presidential nominee. In fact, Ann Coulter’s several statements about Hillary Clinton were so supportive that one could easily be persuaded to believe that Ann has been fooling everyone all along. Is Ann Coulter a true conservative or is she a liberal in sheep's clothing?

I have written before that I could never vote for Hillary Clinton. Frankly, I find the mere thought of Bill and Hillary Clinton presiding in the White House again to be absolutely revolting. I am disappointed and appalled that Ann Coulter's abhorrence of John McCain could actually lead her into the terrible mistake of being on the serious verge of endorsing Hillary Clinton. Ann Coulter actually said: "I'm a Hillary girl now." Ann Coulter also said, in reference to John McCain, that "
Hillary is absolutely more conservative." (See below for excerpts from the Hannity & Colmes interview.)

It is unfortunate that Mitt Romney, a true conservative Republican leader, had to suspend his candidacy. If Mitt Romney had been an ordained Baptist minister like Mike Huckabee, or even an enthusiastic member of an evangelical church, rather than a Mormon, he most likely would be in the forefront right now.

The truth is that John McCain is a conservative Republican and Hillary Clinton is a liberal Democrat. If you believe that John McCain’s conservative views are not conservative enough, does that mean that he is a liberal? No. If you believe that Hillary Clinton is more conservative than John McCain, does that mean that Hillary Clinton is a conservative? No.

Here are some of Ann Coulter's statements to Sean Hannity and Alan Colmes during her recent interview:

Please note: "This is a rush transcript from 'Hannity & Colmes,' January 31, 2008. This copy may not be in its final form and may be updated."  1

"ANN COULTER, AUTHOR, 'IF DEMOCRATS HAD ANY BRAINS':

HANNITY: You'd vote for Hillary —

COULTER: I will campaign for her if it's McCain.

HANNITY: Without interrupting you, let me give you one distinction — that's what liberals do to you. Let me give you one distinction, he did support the war —

COULTER: So did Hillary.

COULTER: Hillary is absolutely more conservative.

COLMES: My work is done. My work is done.

COULTER: Moreover, she lies less than John McCain. I'm a Hillary girl now. She lies less than John McCain. She's smarter than John McCain, so that when she's caught shamelessly lying, at least the Clintons know they've been caught lying. McCain is so stupid, he doesn't even know he's been caught.

COLMES: Go. In fact, could you fill in for me next week? Let me get this straight, would you vote for Hillary Clinton?

COULTER: Yes.

COLMES: You would actually go in a voting booth —

COULTER: If it's close and the candidate is John McCain, because John McCain is not only bad for Republicanism, which he definitely is. He is bad for —

(CROSS TALK)

COLMES: Can I tell you the last thing that Hillary Clinton wants? Ann Coulter's endorsement.

COULTER: Even now he's running as a Republican, he won't give up on amnesty. At that debate the other not —

(CROSS TALK)

COULTER: I'm serious." 1
