Mitt Romney, Mormons, and Nine Christians

Conservative Wordsmith Susan Baldwin writes: Mitt Romney, a Mormon, may well be the next U.S. President, because Mitt Romney and Ann Romney think, speak, look, and act like a Presidential couple.

Do most people envision Hillary and Bill Clinton as our next U.S. President and First Man? If you truly think this is the ideal couple, in reverse, that you want again as your fearless (or should I say fearful?) leaders, please let me know. It is truly irrelevant if one is a liberal or a conservative when faced with this dilemma, and it is a real problem for both Democrats and Republicans.

I recently received three comments on three different posts, all written by the same person, someone that is supporting Gov. Mike Huckabee for President.*

I have received many similar comments from people purporting to be evangelical Christians, and these remarks make me wonder if something is seriously wrong with these people.

I have written several posts regarding various evangelical leaders that support Mitt Romney. I recently wrote a post, "Mitt Romney #1 Fave Of Top Evangelicals," that has a list of evangelical leaders, ten minus one, to be exact, that are supporting Mitt Romney.** (Pastor Don Wilton, pastor of First Baptist Church in Spartanburg, South Carolina, retracted his statement of support on October 23.)***

Some of these evangelicals are worried about Rudy Giuliani getting in the White House, since Rudy is pro-choice, and there are also other issues involving values. The commentators have hopefully read my posts before posting their comments. Am I to assume then that they simply refuse to believe what their own evangelical Christian leaders are telling them?

I am getting to the point of believing, in all sincerity, that if Jesus Christ Himself were to appear to any of these commentators and tell them that their evangelical Christian leaders are correct, and that they should support Governor Mitt Romney, even though he is a Mormon, they still would not listen. They know more than God Himself!

Jesus didn't teach this kind of intolerance. I am being kind in using the word "intolerance", as there are other words I could use, but I choose to not be too overly offensive. If you have the gift of reading between the lines, then you will understand what I am saying.

I was also asked by this same Mike Huckabee supporter if the real reason I am supporting Governor Mitt Romney is because he is the one that is going to be the nominee. He then proceeded to explain to me how Christians that believe in the Bible can't support Mitt Romney. Since two of the posts that he read dealt with the nine evangelical leaders that are currently supporting Mitt Romney, I truly can't understand what it is that this person is reading.

My answer is "no," that is not the reason why I am supporting Mitt Romney. I am supporting him for the same reasons that the nine evangelical leaders are supporting him. If you want to know what these reasons are, then please read my posts. Also, I would like to point out that these nine leaders are all Christians that believe in the Bible, and in Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
