Conservative Wordsmith Susan Baldwin writes: Mitt Romney, Republican Presidential Candidate, and well-known for his Mormon beliefs, wants to get rid of sexual predators on the Internet. Mitt also wants to enforce Obscenity Laws.* I applaud him for this. America's next president should be a strong, moral leader who is not afraid to stand up for what he believes in.
I am sick and tired of predators of any kind. They track humans in the same way that animals track their prey, seeking out those they wish to destroy. Jealousy can trigger a kind of nonsexual predatory behavior which can also be dangerous. What causes someone to become a predator? Is the person born with a brain defect? Is it society and dysfunctional families? Is it a nutritional deficiency? Or is it the person's own evilness that triggers compulsive thoughts that want to harm others, be it physically or emotionally?
I, for one, have no sympathy whatsoever for predators of any kind. I don't believe that the death penalty should only apply to murderers. I think that all sexual predators should receive the death penalty so they can never harm anyone again, and that also applies to sexual predators that prey upon children on the Internet. Liberals will be angry at what I am saying and cry out for mercy. Some conservatives may also disagree. But mercy is only meant for those who are willing to repent of their sins, and I don't believe this applies to most sexual predators.
It is near impossible to even comprehend what evil thoughts go on in the minds of such people, thoughts they then willingly put into action. Does a sexual predator who seriously repents of past sins get to go to Heaven? There are some who will say "yes" without even blinking an eye. Doesn't repentance count for something? It may be good for the predator to feel remorse for his sins, but this can never take away the destruction of other lives, either physically, emotionally, or both, that he willingly caused.
Only God knows for sure who eventually goes to Heaven and who doesn't, but I will say this: I never read one example in my New Testament of Jesus Christ ever forgiving a predatory stalker, rapist or child molester.
